On the coasts of La Manche, the delicious Coquilles Saint-Jacques, oysters from Cotentin are caught from the sea.
In Dieppe you absolutely must taste the freshly caught and fried herring on the barbecue during the Fête du Hareng, the herring festival.
The crème – the cream – is the sauce par excellence of the Norman dishes, from escalope, the Norman escalope to the fried Norman mussels.
And now with the rural flavors: the Andouillette, the typical sausage from Vire, the Normandy butter, the cheeses of the Pays d’Auge (Camembert, Pont-l’Evêque or Neufchâtel), the tripe from Caen…

The overflowing orchards of apples give birth to other delicious proposals, from the Norman cake to cider and Calvados, secret of the famous Trou Normand rite (a glass of calvados to be thrown down in one breath during an important lunch, to help digestion).
